Onewheel xr8/15/2023 The Onewheel is a very reliable product and any hardware version can be repaired by Future Motion. Many Onewheel owners have no intention of self diagnosing, modifying or repairing their Onewheel. This makes the board difficult or impossible to self repair.Ĥ2 have all of the above restrictions, but will absolutely not work with any battery modification or range extenders. The Controller (Onewheel computer stored in the front half) and the Battery Management System (battery computer stored in the rear) are interconnected together through the software. XR Hardware 4210 is where it gets a bit tricky:īattery modifications can be done, but can result in an “Error 23” when the Onewheel app detects a battery larger than stock. These versions are desirable to riders who wish to modify their boards, such as replacing the battery pack or adding external battery components. These older models allow access to battery cell information with third party apps, which allows for battery modification and interchangeable parts for self repair. XR models start at hardware version 4206, then continued to 42. You have nothing to worry about if you own an original (”V1”) or Plus model Onewheel, as these models do not receive firmware updates like newer models (XR and Pint) do. The firm states that safety is at the core of its business and that it has made continual improvements in product safety over the six generations of products it has in the market. The firm states that Onewheel users know that there are inherent risks in riding an electric skateboard, just as there are in any other board sport, or with riding an e-bike, electric scooter, ATV, or motorcycle. The firm states that it always encourages riders to carefully educate themselves on how to use the board safely, ride within their abilities, and wear a helmet and other safety gear. The firm sees no reason for riders to stop using their boards or new riders to not purchase one. As summarized, the firm states that all Onewheel electric skateboards are safe when operated following basic safe riding principles common to any board sport.
